All Missouri metro Mothers and More chapters are participating in Power of a Purse, collecting new and gently used purses to be filled with personal care items and donated to women of Hope House and Hope Haven, two area domestic violence shelters, in time for Mother's Day. If you are interested in donating purses or personal care items/toiletries, please contact us at lsmothersandmore@gmail.com.

The Lee's Summit Chapter of Mothers and More would like to invite you to join us for our monthly meeting to find out more about what Mothers and More can offer you. We are a group for mothers that helps women focus on themselves and connect with other mothers, offering meetings, playgroups, and more! We are a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education, and advocacy. We address mothers' needs as individuals and members of society, and promote the value of all the work mothers do.

Lees Summit Girls Softball Association is selling trash bags for their fundraiser. Finally, no candy bars!! lol
Anyway, let me know if you would like to purchase a roll. They are $10/roll and there are three different sizes to choose from.

Yellow - 25 39gal
White - 65 15gal
Blue - 16 55gal

Orders have to be placed by March 5th.

You don't have to pay until we deliver to you, on March 27th.

Understanding Tif's

Can anyone answer this question for me?

I know the sales tax is higher at Summit Woods and at Summit Fair, and they are both TIF developments. So, of the 8.6% Sales tax in these 2 areas, where does the tax per dollar go? Downtown Lee's Summit's sales tax is 7.6%, being this is non-Tif, where does this sales tax go?

I generally avoid shopping in TIF areas because my understanding is that it goes back to the developer and I don't believe government should be in the business of developing shopping centers (or business at all!), but wanted to know how much really goes where and what the difference is in Tif and non-Tif areas...so I can shop (and share with others) where it best benefits Lee's Summit.

Snow Plows-Public Works- Police

My neighbors and I have a gripe with the plows,
1. why can't they plow more than a foot from the center of the road ?
every day since saturday they widen the path by one foot cover our driveways with snow, we clean it, the next day they do it again... I am ready to block their path. ( i bet they thinks its funny).
2. When they come up from a side street they push it across our street, leaving a speed bump a foot and a half tall, which they leave.
3. They use a backhoe to clean the corners, he pushed it into my yard and removed my grass. ( now i'll have to re-sod in the spring).
4. I pulled many stuck vehicles out over the weekend, while pulling one out of her driveway (next to the sled hill Douglas and Chipman), I watched 4 police cars and THE NEW 4X4 TRUCK pass her by while she was blocking the road. While I was pulling her out two Police cars passed me without helping stop traffic while I blocked the road. ( apparently Lamars was having two for one sale).
