This is an odd one ...
“It is my pleasure to vote ‘yes,’” she said.
I can understand that a yes vote was for the "overall health of the city" but a "pleasure"?
I think our mayor should think more along the lines of ... I have no choice, this project is a major deal and it has to work ... than it's a "pleasure" to do this.
This is a RED screw up, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it.
Well ... maybe not.
This is just could be part of the "plan".
RED should have more money "on hand" to build the stuff they say they can.
If you want the taxpayers to back you with tax dollars you should be able to invest your money in it.\
At the very least have some cash on hand for stuff like this.

You know what's funny about this don't ya ... one of the major reasons City Walk was turned down was because LSMO tax dollars were going to pay to rebuild the bridge at 291 and 50 hwy and the city didn't want to do it because the State would then want them to rebuild all the bridges in LS without state funds.
Now the city is loaning money to a private company to build a shopping center.
That's not good.

How much longer is this mayor in office? How much more damage can she possibly do!
What a joke this all is - RED needs $9m to pay off one debt? How solvent is this company? Of course Mr. Lowe knows that all he has to do is go before council and get whatever he wants. Shame on those that voted for this. They have absolutely no respect for the citizens of LS.
Ms. Hoffman is a loon! Get a job at Macy's if hard times are upon you? Like working at Macy's for $8.50 an hour is going to make my mortgage payment, car payment, day-care, insurance, PROPERTY TAXES, support my ailing parents medical costs, and then with all that left over cash, pay for essentials like food, gas, utilities. She is clueless!
Mr. Gray - come on, as soon as I saw his campaign signs all over Summit Woods property, I knew who was fronting his campaign.
Mr. Cockrell - does he even know where he is half the time?
Mr. Hallam - big shame on him. He was the one I thought would possibly change his vote.

Was the mayor wearing her red blazer again?? Did she have her "can't buy it in Lee's Summit" perfume on?? Did her facial cream make her look younger than her 55 years?? Did Dan Lowe mention how good she looked?? These, too, are good questions, my friends.

I wonder how much it costs to buy votes like that? Not in actual cash but in free lunches and spa trips and hot tub parties...
I have been ashamed of the Lee's Summit city council (and mayor) ever since they decided to waste enough electricity to run all the stomach pumps in Nigeria
---just to keep the thousands of light poles burning downtown and every 10 feet on Ward road.
I encourage my friends to watch the council on TV so they can see the true meaning of the old phrase "The squeaky councilman gets the grease"

Is it true that the Mayor is now working for RED?
Is this the same company that the city of Lee's Summit had to cosign a loan for so they finish that new shopping center?
